Brecon Choir Festival was set up in 2022 to bring the best of Welsh and emerging choral talent in the most beautiful of settings. Our mission is to provide festival audiences with unique participation experiences, and to give young people and those underrepresented in choral music opportunities which otherwise would not exist.

As we head towards our fourth year we have ambitious plans for more workshops, the commissioning of new pieces of music to be premiered at the 2025 Festival, and a Come & Sing concert of Mendelssohn’s Elijah. After a successful first two years we are also continuing our Young Singers Award to help discover the next generation of Welsh singing talent.

Brecon Choir Festival is run by Brecon Buzz CIC, a not-for-profit Community Interest Company. Sponsorship, donations by Benefactors, and our Friends initiative all help us to develop and thrive- nurturing talent, creating community initiatives with lasting impact and programming unforgettable events at affordable ticket prices.

Festival Benefactor (private individuals)

If you are an individual interested in supporting the continued success of Brecon Choir Festival we invite you to consider becoming a Benefactor by contributing to some of our exciting new initiatives.

In 2025, our festival theme will be RS Thomas: Music, Man & The Machine. The initiatives we need help with include:

Commissioning new pieces of music set to the words of one of RS Thomas's poems
Supporting events exploring the relevance and historical context of RS Thomas
Hiring musicians to accompany a Come & Sing Workshop and a concert of Mendelssohn's Elijah, to be performed as the opening event of the 2025 Festival with Brecon Singers and other choral singers from across Wales
Supporting singing workshops in schools

Festival Benefactors will be invited to an exclusive reception at Found Gallery and can attend the concert they have supported as an honorary guest, or receive two tickets to an event of their choice.
